duh - yes, mike -- It then converts the neg to a positive on the screen. which it does, but the colors are poor. This is set in the SCANNER software... (twain version 5) Ive been away form the machine for a number of hours -- I'm going to try a more recent neg. One thing I worried about was it being "wonky" because I just don't have enough room in ram when I'm doing it... ann
