Hmm, wonder what features it will omit apart from the stainless steel
chassis?

If I was running the Baby D project then I would probably want to remove
as many "advanced" features as possible to prevent cannibalization of
*ist D sales.

* So, no compatability with non A lenses (or M42 etc.)
* Just Green mode, Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority
* Delete one of the manual control wheels (probably the rear one) as
only one is now needed.
* Only one metering mode
* No AF point selection
* Only one set of CF settings, not three.
* bundle it with a DA zoom to keep it small & light  

I'd also try and get it smaller than the *ist D if I could, but maybe
use the same battery grip (make money on the accessories).
