I'd be surprised if there are _any_ buildings in North America as old as 560 years that were built by the Europeans and their descendants.

Since that would have been 1444, so would I. Come to think of it Columbus would have been suprised too.
The vikings are supposed to have sailed to different places on the North American continent several times around the year 1000, including New Foundland, Labrador and Nova Scotia. Don't think they left some buildings, though.
