(It's a nice range for 35 mm). You either need a camera that has control wheels, or you have to use the lens in either programmed AE or shutter preferred AE. The 18-35 is a bit soft at the corners wide open and at shot focal lengths, but surprisingly enough, it does adequately cover the 35mm format. William Robb
