Hi Juan and all,
I do have experience with the Jupiter in its various versions, since I own
four (two M42 screwmount, a 39x1 screwmount and a Kiev/Contax/Nikon
rangefinder mount).
The two M42 and the Kiev Co/Ni mount seem to be uncoated, but this is not a
problem at all. The 39x1 is coated, but there isn't any visible diffenrence
with the other three in terms of color rendition or flare (never done any side
by side test, though).
The M42 has been for long my portrait lens, and even now that I own the FA
85/1.4 it plays its role when I need a fast medium tele without suffer from
weight or size.
It has a wonderful bokeh, thanks to the perfectly circular aperture of the
diaphragm (if i remember correctly the number of blades should be something
like 11). I like its resolution too, but I never tested it or compared to that
of the FA or another 85mm lens. It is not much soft wide open (but still good
for portraits), and becomes very sharp when stopped down.
About the color rendition, I would define it as neutral, like many russian
lenses.
I think the Jupiter is worth $50, if like new or with little sign of use.
I don't know if a K mount version does exist.
