This may be a naive question. I recently started using my first AF 35mm SLR, a ZX-L. Before that I'd been using a Super Program.
I don't have any AF lenses yet, and even when I do, I'll still be using other MF lenses for a long time. Since the ZX-L's focusing screen doesn't have a split-image, I often find the camera's focus-assist feature helpful. But it doesn't work well in low light, and of course on slower lenses. So, I'm considering switching to a flash with infrared AF illumination. I'm clear on how that helps with an AF lens. My question is -- does it also help with the camera's focus-assist feature? BTW, has anyone found a way to swap out the ZX-L's focusing screen with one that has a split-image? Thanks, Greg
