Hi Paul, Not to dissuade you from your scanning practices, but to better understand the concept: Why scan in RGB for ultimate tonality? There are numerous ways to tone or tint a straight greyscale print in PS, and, at least with the methods I've tried, they are simple, fast, easy, and quite repeatable.
