Paul, first you must format the card within the *ist D. It's the first
command on the menu, I think. Have you done this?
If you've formatted it and the camera won't recognize it, then either
piece of equipment could be defective. The *ist D seems to have a high
defect rate (based on posts here). My Lexar 1 GB with write acceleration
works fine, but the documentation that came with it bore little relation
to reality. It appeared to me that Lexar was pushing product out the
door with little quality control. So if you suspect a piece of defective
equipment, I would first try a different card.
