No less accurate than calling them "Native Americans" since
America isn't from any of their languages either.

Most tribal cultures call themselves something that translates
roughly as "the people", which is less than useful for the purposes
of distinguishing one group from another for either good or ill...

Since it's our language I would think that we can call Indians anything
we want to as long as no offense is intended, and if it is there's really
nothing that can be done about it anyway.
