Lasse,

I have been thinking about this for quite a while also, as whatever you decide
leads to quite a lot of money being spent - and of course what you really need
depends on the kind of shots you do.
Here are the options I considered (both the MZ5 and the *ist D will support all
setups):

1) Buy two, three ore more of the strong Metz flashes of the 45CT.. variety
together with Mecalux opto-electronic releases plus a decent flash meter. This
will give you independent operation of the flashes (no distributors and cables
lying around) and correct exposure - but only manual operation.

2) Update this setup with Metz 305 cables, connectors and adapters to achieve
TTL flash metering. Not cheap and less accurate metering than with the flash
meter, but faster.

3) Buy Pentax flashes like AF280T and AF400T together with 4-pin cables,
distributors or hot shoe grips - about the same functionality than option 2)
but the Metz flashes are stronger.

4) Buy Pentax flashes of the ...FGZ or FTZ kind together with 5-pin connectors
and cables. This probably is the most expensive solution but has the most
features and as you already have a FTZ flash it probably is the way you would
like to go.

When choosing Pentax for multi flash setups, you need to decide between 4-pin
and 5-pin up front, as both systems are incompatible.

I decided to stick with option 1 (and not spend the money for 2, 3 or 4). As I
have the *ist D now, I find that this is very adequate and I don't even need
the flash meter anymore. With digital, when a scene is set up you can adjust
the aperture and flash output until you like what you get on the LCD screen or
(better) by putting the CF card into the nearest computer and checking the
details.
