In 1950 almost any decent sized city had a great public transport system, now only a handful do. Non of them seem to realize that waiting 15 minutes for a trolley in a covered stop was a lot different from waiting an hour and a half for a bus in the rain. Now they seem to think you should drive 5 miles to a bus stop and wait for a bus, when you can finish the trip in your car in less time than the wait.
