1.) Your MX needs a CLA, (I'm not kidding).
2.) The winder is worn out. If that's the case take it back, get your money back and look for another. You can find lots of Winder MX's in relatively good condition, that are not worn out, and at the prices they usually sell for it's not worth repairing one. (But, that's just my opinion)
