Hey, the people on this mailing list are ample proof of the concept... and the ist-D costs a lot less than the Kodak 14n! I think one reason that Kodak has gone for the high end segment of the market rather than building a D100/10D/ist-D competitor, is that they can actually make *money* from a $4000.00 camera body, whereas with a "budget" DSLR, most of the profit will be made by whoever makes lenses for it. That's also why Pentax is really hitting the wide angle end of the lens spectrum in regards to DSLR-specific lenses: They want to make profit there while there is little competition (only Sigma is in now but it won't be long before Tamron and Tokina join in). -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
