I have checked the Pentax lens brochure which printed only the A2X-S is 
compatible with the FA*300/4.5. Since you said you had used the A1.4X-S with 
this lens, does it provide pin sharp result (especially at wide open) 
without any mechanical incapability? How about vignetting? I would like to 
buy one for my F*300/4.5 but concerned it might be incompatible. Your 
comment would be helpful.
