If I may point my fellow list members to this article, which concluded that 
10mp is the theoretical equivalent of 35mm film, but around 6mp is the 
practical equivalent:

I guess Pentax arrived at the same conclusion.

There is no need to remind me that this is only some guy's own opinion 
couched in convoluted mathematical jibberish. I am, nevertheless, persuaded 
by it.
