the Bayer interpolation is much better than the Pentax Photo Laboratory
interpolation. the digital noise at high ISO now looks a lot more randomized
like film grain than what Photo Laboratory puts out. that means it's easier
to remove and that sharpening will generate more random looking artifacts
instead of the patterns that show up in Photo Laboratory output.
