Actually I DO have such a combination (MZ-3 + 24-90mm) but have no
extensive flash-experience with it, so I can't tell for sure.
It is not as easy using film to do a quick test as it is with the *ISTD :-)

However, I did do that experiment with the *ISTD plus 16-45mm and that has severe
vignetting (not the corners, but a huge shodow at the middle-bottom of the frame)

Comparing the two lenses, there are two obvious differences:
1) The 16-45mm is the longest at wide-angle, this is BAD, 24-90mm is SHORTEST on WA.
2) The 24-90mm is shorter than the 16-45mm anyway

See the pictures of both lenses mounted on *ISTD and MZ-S at:

Note thet both lenses are fully extended, but the 24-90 is at 90mm
while the 16-45 is at 16mm. To use the RTF, remove the hoods :-)

A minor difference between MZ-S and MZ-3 (or MZ-5) is that the built-in flash
on the MZ-S is a bit higher up (further from the lens axis) which is good ...

I would say that any of the tulip-shaped hoods that are wide enough for
the WA-zooms will cause severe vignetting with the RTF.
