Well, Chris,

First of all, I like the colour shot more. There's something about the b&w shot that just doesn't look like "real" b&w to me. It just seems too soft (which the colour doesn't, to me), and it's not really contrasty enough.

I'm not sure what to make of the image in and of itself. It just doesn't turn my crank, I guess. Much in the way that my Kingston Bus Station photograph that I posted a week or so didn't turn Norm's crank. I think you're trying to say something, but I don't know what. It doesn't look like a spontaneous shot, it looks staged. Which is fine, but if it is going to be staged, I'd like to be able to figure out what the message is. By the title, I'm guessing that it may have something to do with Valentine's Day, and maybe some commentary about commercialism?

Well, I don't usually chime in to dump on a photo, but I notice that you posted about 12 hours ago, and no one commented yet, so I wanted to say ~something~. But, I had to be honest, too.

Here. Here's one of the more useless photos I've taken in the past couple of years:

Feel free to savage it, and then we'll be even. <vbg>

cheers,
frank

I can't decide whether I like the Colour or the B&W version.Which was done
with the silver oxide filter via Photshop Elements.

Merci and Mille Grazie.
