Also #1 has those people in the close background. In #2 they're farther in the background - it's great that they're there, because they provide the context of a street scene. But, in #1 they're so close that they are a bit of a distraction, IMHO.
In number two, there's light at the end of the street, which brightens up the whole image, and is much more pleasing to me.
So, to summarize, #2 is my favourite.
