Better in what way? Lenses? Metering? Durability? Which Leica R? Some are built by Minolta, some have had lots of problems with electronics. None have auto focus (if that's important to you). Some of their lenses are not very good, others are exceptional. Which Pentax bodies are you thinking of? Some, IMO, are pretty poor, others quite fine.
