I think the second is a lot more visually stunning, but, as you said, it's
a shame about the cut-off wingtips.  The first one has good composition,
but it doesn't have as much light shining through the feathers, and
there's not enough body detail for my liking.  I'd say you came very close
with both, but didn't quite achieve "most excellent!" status.  :)
