There's a Nikon "F" hood designed specifically for a 50mm lens, but
good examples of that hood are spendy and sometimes hard to find.
However, a great option for a screw-in metal hood is the Nikon
HN-7. Although it's designed for the Nikon 85mm/1.8, it works
perfectly on Pentax 50mm lenses. It's deeper and provides more
protection than the HN-3, which I've been using on my K24/2.8 to
good advantage.
