Darren,
I have three Series 1s and am itching to buy an MZ-M. Are you saying the
problem is found onthe MZ-M?
Also: Two of my Series 1s (135/2.3 and 200/3) are screwmounts on which I
use a Pentax-brand screwmount-to-K-mount adapter. If their K-mount versions
exhibited this problem, will the problem affect the screwmount-designed,
adapter-fitted lenses, as well?

Incidently, this is facility for the "power-zoom" contacts. It exists on
all Pentax AF bodies from the PZ series to current...even if it doesn't
actually have the contacts (as on the MZ-7, 30, 50 etc.). The SF series of
cameras did not have this little "box" that gets in the way. This problem
should not occur on any manual focus camera previous to the MZ-M, as there
should not be anything to get in the way.
