So..? If I did it at noon Oz time, the water would have run up out of the drain?

Of course I did the experiment at noon, at least I think it was noon (real time) somewhere in the world at that instant (grin).

For what it is worth, I just did a simple experiment. Filled the kitchen sink 1/2 full. Waited for the water to become still. Then pulled the plug.

Results: Did not spin in either direction, but run straight down the drain from all directions.

Of course, it could be they build toilets in Oz in which the nozzles are angled to swirl the water the other way, just to keep the tourists happy (grin).
