This is also a reason that I don't like photographic competitions but greatly enjoy galleries. Competitions by their nature often take the view of one or a small panel of people with their own views on photography, often, it would appear, in direct conflict with my own likes or dislikes. In galleries there's no winners or losers - the majority could *hate* a picture, but it may still find a buyer from someone with a different viewpoint. Of course you realise that someone, somewhere would consider (for example) such backgrounds as an artistic genre in it's own right and there's probably a book in it....no, don't laugh... Malcolm
