Hi!

Sorry I am late to this thread. Here are my bits of experience:

1. I have Plextor PlexWriter 16/10/40 - old but reliable. No coasters
whatsoever unless caused by operator, aka me.

2. I used to use Verbatim disks but then they became extinct in
Israel. I switched to TDK (spindles of 50) that were brought to me
from USA. No problems yet. Knock on wood of my head.

3. What I would recommend is to examine periodically your archival
CDs. Also you could consider making two copies of each important disk.
Perhaps using different brand can be a good idea to come along with
previous one.

4. I hear from many sources that burning at high speeds x48 and above
is not really reliable. I cannot tell, as I cannot burn faster than
x16... I would recommend trying few speeds and seeing how it comes
out...
