My thought was this: Color film is printed with a compensation for the tone of the base. B&W *seems* to have a scanning problem because of the total transparency of the base. So .. what would happen if one added a color behind the neg to add a tone that could be removed via software after scanning. Would that reduce the b&w base transparency issues that make scanning so difficult.
