I'm not sure what to think of this one, Boris.

Technically, it's a very good photograph, I think. I really like the background - I think you did well to deal with a very difficult backlit exposure situation in a pleasing way. Nice bokeh. Wonderful composition - the other guests, the vertical window frames, the chair - we're obviously at a reception of some sort, but beyond that, it's all put together in a very pleasing way.

I think what I'm not sure about is the expression of the bride, and even moreso, that of the young child - he seems very uncomfortable (almost looks like he's squirming to get down), and the bride seems only slightly less uncomfortable.

She's trying to hide her feeling of awkwardness with a forced smile, but she seems not to want to be there. That's my perception, anyway.

Now, maybe that's what you were trying to portray, and if so, fine. But if you weren't, unfortunately, that's what I'm feeling.

cheers,
frank

Hi!

Very odd. It looked brighter after the scan... Nevertheless - this is
my second and probably last PAW from the most recent wedding I've
attended. This is bride holding the child of one of the guests while
talking to child's mom...

All comments are welcome.

Thanks.
