There is a good article on how our photographic copyright here in Oz works 
below. In essence you can photograph any poor sod in a public place and publish 
the image by any means so long as the photo is not used to connect the subject 
directly to a commercial product/venture or in an editorial publication where 
portrays them in an inappropriate, deceptive of defamatory. Leaves plenty of 
latitude for the unscrupulous.
