I like this shot for the same reason I like portraits: I find people fascinating. Their expressions, their facial structure, and in this picture, the contrast between young and old, worn and fresh are all compelling.

In practice it was impossible, since it was a "fleeting moment" shot. The
girl continued talking to Ray for some time, but stopped to show the
cassette in front of him. Step back (and you have to step quite a lot to
change the framing of a 300mm lens), or change the lens, and the key shot is
lost.
