I just got the Sigma 28-105 f2.8. I haven't done or seen any sharpness tests on it, but all the shots I've gotten from it look great and it focuses quickly. I really enjoy having that extra 30mm over the 28-70mm lenses. Only problem is that it sometimes flares a bit on the wide end. It's a great lens paired with the istD.
