Now > I seem to recall this is a known issue, the infinity focus thing The impromptu long exposures and the non-infinity focus do sound like symptoms of possible "sticky mirror syndrome", Sid. I'm pretty sure that the non-infinity focus could be a tip off for "sticky mirror syndrome", but I'm not so sure about the long exposures - I think that "sticky mirror" is more likely to cause a delay on firing, but maybe a delay in the mirror returning could be symptomatic, too (maybe...). The "sticky mirror" does not actually cause the shutter itself to stay open too long, though, I wouldn't think... > But I am worried about my LX; any idea if this is a major repair > job? (as in, more than $200 bucks) If it indeed is "sticky mirror", then a CLA is called for, at maybe not much less than $200 via Pentax USA. Fred
