Hello Peter,

Rather than let you down, I find that autofocus tends to change my
composition if I'm not careful.  I spend more time thinking about what
the AF did (location of focus or shift focus and lock) than about the
picture itself.  My pictures tend to be better when I compose and then
fine tune the focus to the composition rather than focus and then
compose.  The only time I use AF is when I can't do it manually
(no guarantee that the AF does any better).
