Some people made a external battery compartment. I even remember reading
that a manufacturer made one. With a cord - so you can keep the battery in a
pocket or some other relativly warm place. You would need a screw-in contact
thing to put in the camera. I don't know how "long" the camera will work,
tough. A K1000 would be my choise as well (since I already got one). But I
gues many different maunal cameras might do just as well.

My K1000 has seen a number of Northern Canadian winters(usually -20 c during
the day)and
has
functioned well.If you have a light meter,the batteries in the K1000 for its
meter can be
removed.If you
want screwmount,i'd say the SV or S3 would be ok.
