at that length, you normally never use remote releases or mirror lockup. you
hold the lens near the tripod mount and use your face against the body for
damping. also, you try never to shoot under 1/500s. the long fast lenses are
going to be used wide open almost all of the time anyway. that's why you
bought one. the vibration from a winder or motor drive isn't significant if
you have the rest of the system's vibration under control. naturally, you
will have a sufficient tripod so that the legs don't ring and cause
oscillation of the lens system.
