That's the thing, I got the lens for about $200 less than retail, so I didn't want to let it go. Anyway, the problem seems to have corrected itself. I spent some time turning the focusing ring and blowing and brushing the barrel. There was definitely something in there but I think it's mostly gone now. Thank you for the help, guys! :) Amita
