As I posted before, I'm not familiar with AF cameras.
Still, I like the MZ-S style. I have a rather conservative
taste for a camera, and at first glace of an MZ-S, I was
disappointed, in fact.

However, I was wrong. As Paal and other members posted,
it's the build quality of MZ-S which fascinated me most.

If my information is correct, MZ-S will be approx.
JPY120,000 to 150,000, while other "quality" SLR's from
competing manufacturers are much more expensive. EOS-1v is
JPY270,000, EOS-3 JPY185,000, F5 JPY325,000, F100
JPY190,000, Dynaxx9 JPY250,000, and Dynaxx7 JPY125,000.

In this category, only Dynaxx7 can compete MZ-S in its price.
However, I must say that all these cameras are much more plasticky
or far more bulky than the MZ-S.

I like the way Pentax blessed the MZ-S with build quality
and compactness. In many cases, those are
self-contradictory, I suppose, but I think an MZ-S is an
excellent compromise between these factors.

Sincerely,
