Hi, Attila .... Bill was using a rather pedestrian Pentax ME Super that day with an M 28/2.8.
Those aren't raindrops on the glass behind him. Rather, they are patterns on the stone ledge below him. The shot was taken from above, looking down one floor to Bill, and two floors to the OOF people below. Glad you caught the camera and hands in the light. I wanted to emphasize slightly that Bill's a photographer (as opposed to a snap-shooter) and that his cameras are important to him. Getting the light to highlight the camera seemed as good a way to do that as any. The scanner is a blast. I've been borrowing friends' scanners, which limited how much work could be done. Now working thru the night is possible and enjoyable. I hope you can get your setup soon.
