Hi Tan, I was just going though your travelogue of the GFM trip. You don't have to dump your "bum bag" or keep it lightly loaded. I have the solution! I don't know if they have them in Oz, but in the US you can go to an "Army/Navy" store and buy used surplus military stuff, like uniforms and backpacks and stuff. The militaries of the world have had the same problem with hanging a bunch of heavy stuff from their belts. Their solution? SUSPENDERS! Except they call them someting pretentious like "load bearing harness". It's constructed to attach to your belt, so your shoulders can take the load, instead of your trousers. Around here, I could probably get a nylon or canvas webbing one for five USD or so.
