No, not at all. I may sometimes come across as being overly critical, but
that's because I'm that way with my own work and with myself. I look at a
lot of what I do as superficial crap. Always looking for more in the work
that I do. I have the greatest respect for your skills and creativity.
Remember, I may be one of the only people on this list, perhaps the only
one, who has seen your negatives, and who has had a chance to examine them
critically. You do some good work. You do what makes you happy. What
better way to be?

But if anyone posts a photo here and asks for comments, I'm going to say
exactly what I feel - about the work, or how it makes me feel, etc. That's
just me. I'm never going to tell you I like something if I don't. And if
I think you can do more or better, I'll tell you that, too. Can't have you
getting complacent, now, can we <LOL> And bear in mind that I'm struggling
to come to grips with all this new technical stuff. I'm torn between a 40
year old camera and a near extinct emulsion while at the same time
struggling with Photoshop, scanners, and ink jet prints.

So, I'm critical of everyone, myself, my friends, my work ...

So please, don't think I feel that you're superficial. I mean, if I really
thought that, I'd be the one who's superficial - and I'll never admit to
that ;-)) And, even if I am dismissive of the technicalities of the world
in which we live, that's got nothing to do with you personally. The truth
is, I don't like a lot of the new technology. I live a very simple
existence, and have to be dragged into buying and using something new and
leading edge. But that's a tale for another time and place, perhaps over a
nice dinner or a coupla beers, or whatever. I think you'll find we have a
lot more in common than you think.
