I have both of these lenses. I originally bought the Sigma (well, as
part of an insurance deal) and added the Pentax later.

The Sigma is a very sharp lens and has a particularly wide focus ring
which is very nice and can be disengaged when using auto focus so you
can still support the lens with the focus ring.

The Pentax is sharper, but the main reason for the change is that the
Pentax has FAR superior bokeh. The Sigma bokeh is dreadful to my eyes.
For sharp and in focus both are good, but I'd go for the Pentax unless
of course you want to make me an offer on my Sigma in which case send
me an email off list.
