Many of my shots are still life or macros, so I use MF a lot. I actually keep a A50 1.5 lens on the camera since I life the feel of the AF better. I do use AF for moving targets, however, since it does better than I do. I always use only the central sensor for most stuff, although I will actually choose off-center points for composition reason. For example, I'll pick a "rule of thirds" point fro bird shots so I can get fast focus and not have to center everything.
I've always wanted to try a camera with a really high end AF system, like the 1D Mark II or the D2H. I suspect that it may be a whole different experience. >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 6/30/2004 8:36:37 PM >>> On 30 Jun 2004 at 18:30, Joseph Tainter wrote: > Low light autofocus on the *ist D sucks. I would estimate that I've employed AF for less than 2% of the images I've made with the *ist D and then only using the central focus spot. I find AF sucks generally (and I do own a few fast AF lenses). So what percentage of shots do you shoot in AF mode and what AF modes if any?
