I've been to Crete, Greece o fcouple of times. Beautiful and rather big, campared to most Greek islands. Mountains, beaches, small, remote and some no so remote villages etc. If you are going there mainly to photograph, it might be a very good idea to bring a tripod. If you are oing mainly to be with family or friends and enjoy the great weather, food and scenery, I'd leave it at home. In 1997 I was in Grecce alone (no family). I had a tripod with me - and my Rollieflex 3.5F for night shots. Great land-/townscape shots.

I am wondering if it would be a good idea to take my manfrotto 3021 with 3047 head in a suitcase and check it in. What do you all think? -- Frits Wthrich
