Well, let me tell you, Ken, 180 km on a track bike is
only fun for about the 1st 1/2 of the ride. Luckily
there were no really big hills, just softly rolling
ones. In fact, the downhills were worse than up - I
was quite envious that everyone else could coast, get
down into a nice aero-tuck, and zip down easily at 70
or 75 kph.

Last "training ride" I went on, I borrowed a road
bike, and it was wonderful.

Now that I'm not couriering anymore, and getting out
on longer rides to stay in shape, I really have to get
a proper road bike. I love my track bike, but it's
really only practical in town.

I have a friend who bought a Cervelo frame from the
factory, and he's willing to part with it for about
1/4 the price of a new one... (if only I could afford
one even at that price).

I'm glad I did yesterday on a track bike, just to say
I did it. After that, it's just being foolhardy
<vbg>.

cheers,
frank
