April 24: The Pentax MZ-S (picture) high grade 35mm autofocus SLR camera, which was
advertised earlier on JCTN, among others, was announced for sales in Japan in late May
at Y135,000 ($1,125) suggested price for both silver and black finish models.
Production of 3,000 unit is planned monthly. In spite of a lot of sophisticated
features, the camera is made compact: Dimensions of 136.5mm (w) x 64mm (d) x 95mm (h),
with 520g weight.

Pentax Espio 120SW 35mm flash camera (picture) with 28~120mm 4.2x zoom lens, in a
compact body of 111W x 41D x 59.5H mm, with 190g weight. Sales in late May at Y54,000
($450). Aluminium housing, and high resolution lens are featured.
Pentax Espio 105SW is a sister version with 28~1-5mm 3.7x lens. Body size and weight
are the same. Suggested price is Y47,000 ($392).

SMC Pentax FA31mm f/1.8 AL Limited (Picture): highest grade wide angle lens with
bright f/1.8 aperture. It is the third in the AL Limited series lenses, following the
FA43mm f/1.9 and FA77mm f/1.8.
Suggested price is Y127,000 ($1,058) for silver body, and Y130,000 ($1,083) for black
body. Domestic sales starts in late May. ##

Pentax AF360FGZ flash (picture) is compatible with all Pentax AF SLRs, but offers
extra sophisticated modes in use with the new Pentax MZ-S AF SLR camera.
It offers P-TTL (pre-flashing TTL) AE, TTL AE, non-TTL AE and manual controls.
In use with the Pentax MS-Z, wireless TTL AE is possible.Sales start soon at Y30,000
($250) suggested price.

Pentax accessories:
BG-10 is battery grip, exclusive for the Pentax MZ-S. It uses four AA batteries.
Weight is 185g. Suggested price is Y25,000 ($208).
TS-110: Release timer switch offered at Y17,000 ($142). It is good for normal release,
long time exposure, interval mode, interval mode from a set time, etc. Weight is 89g.
CS-105/130: Cable switches offered, respectively, at Y6,000 ($50) and Y7,000 ($58).
The former has 50cm long cable while latter, long 3m cable.
QS-B Quick shoe base is offered at Y5,500 ($46). QS-20 Quick shoe adapter is for
medium format camera and offered at Y6,500 ($54). QS-10 is for 35mm camera use, and
offered at Y5,500 ($45.8).
CL-10: Off camera camera-shoe clip for at Y6,500 ($54). It is for mounting a flash for
off-camera flash operation. Weight is 460g.
