Perhaps others have a different experience or more poorly made/aligned lens,
but my SMCA 35-105/3.5 maintains it's focus throughout it's zoom. Now, the
DOF is much greater at 35 mm than it is at 105 mm, so if I focus at 35 mm
(even very carefully), I may need a slight touch up at 105. If I focus at
105 mm, all will be well focused back to 35 mm. I always focus my zooms (the
other is SMCA 70-210/4) at the long end and then return to the length of
choice and never have a problem.
