Chinon is actually a fairly well established Japanese camera maker. They made some nice screwmount bodies in the 70's, I almost bought one. I believe they also made K mount bodies. I don't know if they made any AF bodies though, or if they are still making cameras. There was a Chinese company that bought the molds and rights to produce the K1000 after Pentax stopped making them. I forget the name of the company. I think they went from match needle metering to LED's, other then that pretty similar, though not the best workmanship. Butch
