Hi all,
My name is Armand and I am new to this list.
After having owned a Canon 10D (and having sold my Contax TVS-D) I am currently looking at the Pentax *ist D.
I have never had any Pentax equiment but I am sure most of you can be of help making the right decision :-)
The main reason why I sold the Canon is that I found it way to bulky. Even with the grip it felt uncomfortable in my hands.
The Pentax looks much more sophisticated in this respect.
I am no Nikon fan which makes choices also easier. I do not believe in the new Olympus system (although the camera itself seems to be very good) which leaves my with the *ist D :-)
Actually I do not want to use a zoom lens but I prefer a good prime of around 24-28-35 mm.
What is a good choice in terms of optical quality ? Maximum I want to spend is around 400 Euros / Dollars
I have seen you talking about a baby *ist D. Are there also any rumours of a new *ist D (not baby) to be released soon ?
Not that I want to wait but if I can save some few hundred $$$$ because the prices of the *old* one will go down.... it might be worth to wait just a little while.
Lat question: I have read that there is NO histogram available when reviewing the last shot (in record mode).
Has there been a firmware upgrade for this ?
Thank you and best regards, Armand
