I have a C-41 question for all the lab rats out there. Fuji/Hunt recently
changed their N-3 (fix) formulation. Basically they went with a more
concentrated liquid in a smaller bottle requiring more water to make
replenisher concentration. Within a few days our machines go out of control
with rising contrast especially red. We then have trouble getting them to
stay in control, high contrast red and high split being the biggest
problems. Any thoughts on the matter? We have doubled the old replenishment
rate and are mixing the replenisher with less water. How much does N-3 temp
affect contrast? I've even spiked my developer slightly to get my LD up a
touch to help split a bit. As I'm going on vacation next week I'd like to
get the machine stable and consistently in control before I leave.
