Question:
Contemporaneous lenses would be M or A series? Or only lenses
made
at the time the LX was introduced - 1980 or so? Or any MF
Pentax
lens, including those made prior to the introduction of the
camera?
Answer:
Lets go with K, M, and A series lenses. I am not including M42
lenses because they are not a direct fit, or AF lenses (see
below).
Question:
Also, I would think that the Limited lenses should be an
exception to the
no AF rule...
Answer:
I disagree. The spirit of the LX is manual focus. As much as I
like the limited lenses, this will be a manual focus lens
gallery. While this obviously cannot be enforced, I ask that we
stay with the 3 lens series I listed above.
Question:
That's a great idea!
"Contemporaneous" means lenses made around 1980 or what?
Answer:
Thank you. It was sort of a spur of the moment thing I came up
with at lunch. See above for the lens line up.
Question:
Will this be followed up by a K1000-only gallery? Then a
PZ-1p gallery? an MX-only gallery?
Answer:
No. I thought that we could do something to commemorate the end
of an era. The LX was the premium Pentax SLR for nearly a
quarter century.
Question:
The PUG has made its mark by being inclusive. Let's not start
something we don't want to continue.
Answer:
As I said, this is a commemorative gallery, in addition to the
August gallery. The inclusion is there, I am not asking to
replace a gallery with another with the intent to exclude
anyone. I am asking that we do something extra that month.
I have had a few more hours to think about this thing.
Here are the general submission guidelines for this special
gallery:
1) Image must have been made with the LX and any Pentax
manufactured lens from the following series; K, M, or A.
2) Image must be created specifically for this gallery.
3) Image dimensions must be 400x600 pixels, either vertical or
horizontal.
4) File size must be 75K or smaller.
5) Deadline for this gallery is July 31, 2001.
The target date for posting this gallery will be August 1st
2001.
Thanks
William Robb
